Chain Mail Jewelry
Contemporary Design from Classic Techniques
Released in the spring of 2006, Chain Mail Jewelry is by far the most extensive chainmail related project I have ever been involved in. Having created over 380 illustrations and written 29 sets of instructions for this project makes me feel very close to the final product. But, credit also must be giving to the 14 other chainmail artists that contributed jewelry projects to Chain Mail Jewelry.
Projects include European, Japanese, Byzantine and Spiral pattern variations, some of which incorporate beads and other accents that bring chainmail fully into the world of contemporary jewelry design.
Check out my personal journal if you would like to read the full story of my involvement in Chain Mail Jewelry.

Amazon.com - Four and Half Stars
"This book is worth buying, I has a beautiful cover and is well writen, Instructions are clear and it has many close up pictures as illistration. If you love chaian mail and like a challenge consider this book."
"This book is really a fine primer for new jewelry chain makers. There are instructions for four chain weaves including the Spiral and Byzantine weaves. However, the real emphasis of the book is how to weave the basic European and Japanese weaves. Additionally, there are several tutorials of variations for the basic Japanese and European weaves. Unfortunately, other than one or two very cool variations of the European 4-1 weave, the experienced chain makers may not learn much new information from this book."
"The instructions are clearly illustrated and well written, perfect for beginning chain makers. The Gallery pages are beautiful and highlight a nice variety of chain applications including: serving pieces, clothing, sculpture and jewelry."

Lark Books
"Thanks to its exquisite, easily mastered techniques and elegant lines, chain mail--the classic art of linking metal rings--is enjoying a creative resurgence among jewelry makers. This attractive resource is the first full-color book on the market to help beginners and intermediates get in on the craze. With computer-generated illustrations that show every step, it thoroughly introduces all the key construction procedures, including the proper methods of winding, opening, and closing the metal rings. The 30 projects include a simple pendant encasing a large semiprecious stone and a flat chain-mail neckpiece that colorfully combines copper and blue titanium rings. Plus, there’s advice on polishing the pieces, tips on adding pearls or beads, and a gallery of works by professional jewelers."
